Nestling in the heart of the Dolomites, Madonna di Campiglio is a destination very much appreciated by Italian high society, but strangely little frequented by foreign holidaymakers. In the image of its neighbours, Saint Moritz, Gstaad and Zürs, après-ski activities are just as much a part of life as the skiing itself. But apart from the clichés which such a label can convey (luxury boutiques, classy hotels, etc.), Madonna di Campiglio does possess a ski area which is noteworthy for its size and diversity.
