Livigno, situated deep in the heart of a valley, has one great quality: the three small hamlets which form the village are duty-free areas within skiing distance of some extremely beautiful off-piste ski slopes. One consequence of such status is that there is an influx of rather young clients, thus ensuring a lively nightlife. Those who prefer the marked ski sectors are not forgotten either, as there are more than 100 km of slopes and the possibility of exploring the other resorts in the Alta Valtellina ski area. The last small plus point is that the resort is not far from St Moritz (in Switzerland). There is however a lack of added value in the resort (in the sense of welcoming children, leisure activities) which means that families will not choose this resort.
