With a population of 3,600, the medieval village of Cavalese is the main rural district in Val di Fiemme. It has all the required tourist installations, is well situated in the valley and is a good starting point for exploring neighbouring resorts. There are bus connections to the various ski areas in the valley and there is a special shuttle service to Canazei for those who wish to take advantage of the Dolomiti Super Ski area.
