Breuil-Cervina is perched more than 2,000 meters up in the Tournenche valley near the Italian-Swiss frontier and has ski lifts which climb as far as 3,500 meters. Snow cover is rarely a problem over the 200 kilometers of slopes. It is also possible using the ski lifts to connect with the resort of Valtournenche down the hill as well as with Zermatt in Switzerland. The small resort thus has a ski area of a quality on a par with numerous other, more famous resorts. A modern resort, Breuil-Cervinia suffers from an après-ski with only a limited number of activities available to non-skiers.
