Bonneval-sur-Arc offers all of the usual benefits of a traditional and well-maintained resort: a superb village with houses of stone and slate roofs, a majestic natural setting-La Vanoise National Park-and the friendly atmosphere of an old-fashioned mountain hamlet. Since there are two sides to all things, we should mention that its after-ski activities are somewhat minimal, and the beauty of the site jars with the limited marked skiable terrain covering only 25 km of pistes. Just the same, with its guidance in icefall climbing, paragliding and dog-sledding, Bonneval-sur-Arc may treat you to something a little more than just a simple ski holiday: an authentic mountain vacation.
