Perched almost two thousand meters high, Bettmeralp forms part of the Aletsch ski area which includes one hundred kilometers of ski slopes. The resort is in a magnificent setting, lying at the foot of the largest Euopean glacier (the Aletsch) with a view over the Matterhorn, a legendary summit. It is a destination appreciated by Swiss families because it particularly welcomes children and is also traffic-free. There is however one negative aspect: the numerous ski tows in the ski area do not accept beginners.
